Win by having the winning result in the “Compare a Card” category.
Compare a Card:
When playing, the host will roll a 10-sided die to determine which card is to be compared. Remove the energy card when playing with a Sword & Shield era pack so that there are 10 slots. If the player is using a special pack with less than 10 cards, divide the rolled number by 2 and that will be the card you use (I.E. if the number rolled is 8, but your pack only has 5 total cards, divide 8 by 2 and the slot to use will be 4). If your card in the slot rolled is a trainer and the category requires a Pokémon, also divide by 2 since we want to compare Pokémon to each other.
Next, the host will roll a 6-sided die to determine what category will be compared.
1. HP
2. Retreat Cost
3. Pokédex Number
4. Name
5. Card Number
6. Reroll
Finally, the host will roll a 6-sided die to determine if we want the highest/longest value or lowest/shortest value. An Even number will be considered Heads, and will result in the highest/longest value winning the comparison. And you guessed it, Odd numbers will be considered Tails, where the lowest/shortest value will win the comparison.
Add up your points and be sure to celebrate every win. When playing virtually be sure to comment the cards you pull and the total number of points so Mark knows when he wins (and more importantly when he loses)
Raid Boss
(In-Person BPM Zone)
If you know Mark is attending a Pokémon league, odds are he will have his Raid Boss deck ready to host this format. Official rules can be found on the Play! Pokemon Rules & Resources site HERE. Any standard or expanded Pokémon TCG deck can participate and Mark loves how the cooperative format creates more fun playing the game. Mark has plenty of jumbo cards to choose a boss from and also has a Giovani Format deck ready to battle against. Gather 1-5 players and don’t hesitate to ask Mark for a Raid Boss Battle the next time you see him. New players are welcome all the time and Mark will explain the rules for everyone willing to join.
Standard TCG
(In-Person BPM Zone)
Mark enjoys playing the Pokémon TCG game with competitive and fun mechanic decks. Every game is a chance to learn interactions and experience the luck of the draw. Feel free to challenge him the next time you are at a venue where people are playing. You may even see him at some Regional competitions!
Future BPM Zones
Mark is continuing to enjoy Pokémon in all versions and variations. If you have an idea for a new BPM Zone feel free to comment on a video and let him know. There are a few more ideas in the works and this area will be updated once they are ready for the world to see.
